Associate in Biblical Studies

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program of study, the graduate will be equipped with:

• a core Biblical curriculum that will enable them to defend and communicate the Bible to others;
• a foundation for ministry skills needed to carry out effective ministry;
• a core of classes on which he or she may build to work toward a Bachelor’s Degree.

Bachelor in Biblical Studies
(Prerequisite: Associate in Biblical Studies)

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

• To give each graduate a foundation in Biblical truth so that he/she is equipped to defend and communicate
  the Bible to others.
• To give the graduate an understanding and appreciation of their position in Christ and enable him/her to
  practice spiritual disciplines as a lifestyle.
• To enable each graduate to recognize differing world-views and minister effectively and creatively in the
  midst of them.
• To enable graduates to acquire the skills necessary to serve and relate to others Biblically.
• To equip and encourage the graduate to be active participants in God’s global work.

General Education Requirements

Ministry Skills Programs

Ministry Skills Programs may be taken for credit or audit. Upon successful completion, the student will be awarded a Diploma. Credit hours earned can be transferred toward the Associate in Biblical Studies if required by that program. Upon successful audit completion, a certificate is awarded.

Foundations Program
The Foundations Program is designed with the High School student in mind as a potential dual-enrollment program before enrolling in a public university.

Upon completion of this program, the student will:

• Build their lives and ministries upon a Biblical Foundation and be able to defend and communicate it to others.
• Be able to combine cultural awareness with Biblical principles and creative training in order to minister to those with differing world-views.
• Effectively possess the important skills of relating to and serving others.

Mission Skills Program

Upon completion of this program, the student will:

• Be prepared to read, defend and communicate the Scriptures; particularly those portions related to global missions
• Be prepared to further the mission of the church as they go, send, pray and give toward world evangelization.
• Possess the tools to develop the Missions Ministry Vision and Strategy at their local church.

Teacher's Skills Program

Upon completion of this program, the student will:

• Have a foundation of Biblical knowledge that will allow them to prepare and teach lessons that are Biblically based and be able to defend and communicate the Scripture to others.
• Have effective people skills to serve and relate to others that they lead in the teaching context in a variety of settings.

Counseling Skills Program

Upon completion of this program, the student will:

• Possess the Biblical knowledge and skills to be able to defend and communicate the Scriptures to others.
• Be prepared to discover and offer Biblical solutions in issues faced in counseling situations.
• Be effective in serving and relating to others in need of counsel and wisdom.
• Understand when and where to refer counselees to others more capable than him or herself.

Youth Skills Program

Upon completion of this program, the student will:

• Be able to interpret, defend and communicate the Scriptures to others.
• Be effective in relating to others, especially youth and their parents/guardians as they serve in ministry to youth/children.
• Possess an awareness of current culture, Biblical principles and creative skills in order to initiate ministry to teens/young adults.

Church Leadership Skills Program

Upon completion of this program, the student will:

• Embrace the Bible as the foundation for ministry wisdom and direction and apply it to others.
• Possess the tools to develop vision and strategies, to deploy Christ’s people ministry according to Biblical values.
• Possess the character and skills needed to relate to and serve others.

There are four Certificates in Biblical Studies offered to students. Award of certificate is based on attendance and attitude.

Biblical Studies (courses beginning with BIB)	15 hours
